    Hi...

I got this from the BlackBerry/Rim page:

Type an accent or special character
Hold the letter key and roll the trackwheel.

    Cheers!

    Re: French Characters

To get accented letters press and hold the key for the letter then roll the trackwheel until you get the accent desired. Then release the key. This should work on all the 87xx series.

    Hope this helps.

Most of the newer BlackBerry OS's have Alternate Input and Alternate Language modules that may or may not be installed on your device.

Download and install Desktop Manager 4.2.1, then go to your provider's download page - find it here:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support...load_sites.jsp
and download and install the latest version of your firmware.

When you start Desktop Manager, if your device's OS is out of date, it will automatically offer to upgrade it. As you click through, make sure the Alternate Language and Alternate Input Method modules are selected (checked).

If your OS is up to date, start the Application Loader, and do the same check for the Alternate Language and Input modules - check them if they're not checked, and proceed.
