    Extremely Slow Bootup

Hello everyone. I seem to have a problem when I reboot. It now takes a very long time to come back up. I'm talking about 10 to 15 minutes. I don't know if its one of two things. 1) I set sms to save forever. I go all the way back to the beginning of Oct '06. I do this because I do need a lot of old texts. Or 2) A decent amount of programs like Google Maps, Berry 411, Yahoo Go, etc. When I do restart, my memory free amount is about 32k-35k. But before doing a reboot its sometimes as low as 5k. Should I frequently clear logs and cache? Will that help? If anyone can help me I would be very appreciative. Thank you -Joe

definately free up as much memory as you can. If the device only has 30k odd i'm surprised its not running slow all the time, not just booting.

You could make a backup of your device, then take off a few apps and see if this speeds things up. If it does, you'll have your answer..

Hehe thats different then. 5mb should be ok, 30mb plenty. YOu could still try uninstalling some programs and seeing if this makes a difference.

Mocerino, you could start by deleting all of the languages that you don't need/use. That would start freeing up space. Also, do you close the programs when you're done using them such as Berry411 or Google Maps? If you leave them open, they continue to eat up memory.

Wasn't necessarily suggesting you get rid permanently, more you take of different ones to see if it makes any difference - as a diagnostic step.

Ok I will try those suggestions. Its not memory I'm concerned with. Its that when I restart my unit, it takes almost 15 min to reboot. Unless that's what's causing it... Thanks
