    Deleting User Mailbox

    Hi All,

I have recently got a Blackberry 8700 from a friend, while opening to view the folder in the messages.
There is my friend old mailbox.

How can I delete away her mailbox?

The delete option is nowhere to be seen.

    regards,
    Theran

It sounds like the unit was on a BES and is showing the old user's mailbox. If you're not on a BES, try deleting all the Desktop[] service books and pull the battery.

If that doesn't do it, you'll have to wipe the device. Go to ( Settings --> ) Options --> Security Options --> General Settings. Click the wheel and select Wipe Handheld and follow the prompts. This will wipe all user data (including anything you've entered) and start you with a fresh device.

also, just in case if you have any data you've stored on the device. You'll need to backup

I didn't mention backup / restore because the mailbox will just be restored, and you're back to the original problem.

You can do a selective backup / restore, but frankly in this situation I'd recommend starting fresh - which is aslo why I didn't mention it.

I'd also recommend a device wipe. If your friend was on BIS then her BIs account also needs to be un-associated with the Blackberry or else the service books will eventually get pushed to it and you'll start receiving her email again. She needs to contact her carrier to do this (unless she transferred the BIS account to a new BB).

Agreed. Just to ensure the user is fully aware kudos
