Well I prefer the hard holster in which the device came with I feel it holds it securly as well as looking more professional.. I usually just put my index and middle finger on the bottom of my bb and apply slight pressure while sliding the device into my palm. Wow that was way to detailed lol..

I forgot about another case I have which is a Krusell Multidapt Body Glove case w/a Swivel Clip (once I got tired of it messing up the screen). I used the same method as I described for my OEM case (and my Open Face Case now since I got the extended battery and am trying to stretch the case).

It is interesting how the stock holster works, I just got my blackberry and am amazed the holster holds it so well. I took just grap with index and thumb pull up.

I learned that the egrips piece for the back of my 8700 really makes it too tight of a fit -- or it causes too much friction and increases the risk of a drop. So I removed the back egrip and the front egrip then moved the lower egrip to the top of the machine. Now my grip is secure and drawing the BB from the holster is smooth and secure. The Cingular leather holster is working nicely. No change in drawing technique required for me!

I have a seidio plastic swivel holster, and I wear it on the right side. I usually use my right hand to hold the BB while using the left to remove the top clip.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~I had a customer with a 7290 and he was putting it in the holster keypad facing out. He did it for so long that it ruined a lot of buttons on the keypad. Ke was upset at me because he couldn't use the A key.

But I use the stock holster straight up and down on my right side. I use my four fingers to pull it up and my thumb to grab it. That's about it. I haven't dropped it (yet)

I am right handed, wear my 8700 on my right side. I purchased a full cover for my bb so now I put my oem holster aside. But now my bb is fully protected and I have the advantage of using it in the case so even if it drops, it won't scratch. (I hate it when my phones get scratched!!!)

Well, I wear mine on the right side, straight up and down and I am right handed. It does interfere in the car, so I tried switching it to the left, but I just can't get it. I wear it facing keys in. Will work on the euhy to left side switch!

I just switched from a 7780 to a 8700R. I have always used a leather holster - the plastic one supplied by the friendly folks @ RIM is awkward because it is so stiff. My screen faces inward - for confidentiality as much as any other reason.

I'm a lefty and wear it on my right with the keyboard facing in. I push the bottom in towards me then lift it out.
