    Blackberry obsolete?

Just out of curiosity over looking at the Pearl, 8800 and now the rumored hot topic 8300 Blackberrys that are out now I am wondering is this 8700 I just bought off of ebay going to be obsolete anytime soon?

That's true. Just seems like they're releasing newer BBs at a record pace. Kinda makes you feel uneasy

I think the 8700 series is going to be around for a long time.

I agree, I have both the 8700 and the 8800. Everytime I find some new feature on the 8800 I pop my sim card back into the 8700 and try to duplicate it (upgraded its OS to 4.2) And some days my thumb just misses the trackwheel.

It seems like new models are coming out at a faster pace because the model lines have been broadened. A BB is obsolete when it's useless to you. We have plenty of 6230's and 7230's (not to mention 7290's and 8700's) still deployed and working away.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ I really love my 8703e. I can't imagine it going out of style. I would be lost.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ I still own, but don't use, a 7730 and a 7100t. I hope the 7105t stays around for awhile. I might get one if this Pearl goes down.

I have been known to do the same thing with my 7100t as far as the OS LOL

8700 is a solid unit. I won't upgrade for another 12 months or so. THEN is can be called 'old'. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

I love my 7130c and can't imagine trading it in yet. Good thing, b/c I have another year with it due to contract obligations.

I'm still using the 7730 until I get my 8700g unlocked! - 7730 is an old classic!!

I had a Pearl and sold it. I bought a new 8700g and I am very happy with it. I also got the Seidio extended battery so I only have to charge it once maybe twice a week. My 8700g is a solid phone with all the functions I need, and can be used for self defense, when I go into rough neighborhoods for work.
