Yak-On is the best, in my opinion.

Free: Ramble IM (you get what you pay for...) I think IM+ is worth every penny.

IM+ and Yak On. There are other programs you can purchase out there... you can search on handango.com to see them.

You can check out this post for some info on the biggest ones:

If you have some patience, I would wait for the official RIM client. It was origionally supposed to come out this month/July, but I believed this has been pushed back. AOL and Google have teamed up to combine their IM clients, so I would say this is keeping them from a client release.

The RIM clients are better to me than the 3rd party apps most of the time. I wonder what the 3rd parties are going to do once RIM makes thier own for everything?

Forces them to work on BETTER apps. Competition is always good for the user Plus the RIM apps are seperate, not an "all in one" solution.

True, but sometimes All In One is confusing.

I agree. RIM apps are also optimized for the RIM network, and do not "talk" as much, so this saves on bandwidth, which saves on battery.

I DL Google talk and it is awesome!! You can set it up to receive aim, yahoo, icq and msn all in one application and it's FREE.. I would totally recommend Gtalk over anything you pay for.. You have to do a bit of editing and software configurations but is well worth it!!

Re: Best IM client for AIM?

I have tried Verichat, Yak-On and am now playing with Webmessenger and I have to say Verichat IMHO is the better of the three. Yak-On seem to have trouble connecting as does Webmessenger and the interface in Verichat is much better.

You can get a free trial on any of the three for 15 days or so.

    Have fun!
