BB rings when headset in use!

    Hi fellow BB users,

I'm new as you may have guessed
Can you please tell me if it is normal for the phone to ring when you have switched to a Bluetooth headset?
I would expect the BB to go on silent mode, is there a setting I am missing?
    Unit is 8707g
    Jabra BT250

    Many thanks

    Hi Leky,

Welcome to the Stacks I'm not sure about ALL bluetooth headsets, however, even if your bluetooth is enabled, and you have it in your ear, UNLESS you are currently in a call, your BB will ring, as well as getting a beep or tone in your headset. Now if it's doing it WHILE you're in a call, then that's not normal, but I've never heard of that happening so couldn't help ya on that... if that's the case, reply and let us know, I'm sure someone can help you out if so

Hi Leky, welcome to pinstack. As Jaded said the BB will ring and your headset should emit some sort of beep, or series of beeps to let you know you have a call. I do believe I used to have a Nextel phone that would ring in the headset, because there was a setting to ring in the headset not the phone, but the BB doesnt appear to have that same setting.

And this is a "bad" thing?

I never used my Bluetooth headset on my prior Moto phones because the phone's ringer is muted when BT is connected.

How do I know if the phone is even ringing when I take off the BT headset to give my ear a rest?

I'm grateful and thankful that a BlackBerry will still ring even when Bluetooth is on.

It would only be essential for those that keep their BB at a distance and keep their Bluetooth attached to their head! I keep mine in my pocket, and closed until I am ready to use it.

Same here CP, but my BB rings when my Headset is closed b/c the connection is "lost". I love that feature.
