Re: BB 8700 on T-mobile

Did you purchase a BlackBerry Data Plan? Simply having a BlackBerry doesn't allow you to do anything more than a normal phone.

You will need one, and T-Zones won't work... it's not the same thing, nor will the standard $19.99 internet plan. You'll need to subscribe to the $19.99 BlackBerry Data Plan (if you have voice) or $29.99 if you want it without voice.

If you do have a data plan, you will need to login to my.tmobile.com (or just call them) and have the service books resent.

Pretty much no matter what you need to call the carrier for Data Connection Refused messages.

Re: BB 8700 on T-mobile

If memory serves me I got connection refused when I first stuck my SIM card in my BB while it was still set up for a Sidekick and not on a BB plan. Once I changed to a BB plan the problem was solved.

Re: BB 8700 on T-mobile

I am having problem polling messages from GMAIL only. All other accounts are working fine. Anybody else experiencing this.
I just switched from a 7105T to 8700C
Everything else works fine.

Yes only Gmail.
I am on TMO
I tried resetting my POP setting on gmail also. Still no difference. Amazing as it is, it seems I am the only one with this problem.

Re: BB 8700 on T-mobile

I think that the Issue was with GMAIL...

I reset the POP settings for my GMAIL accounts today morning (again) and now polling is fine.

Re: BB 8700 on T-mobile

No it will only work with GSM sims. IDEN is a different network. Nextel hasn't released a 8700 series yet.

Re: BB 8700 on T-mobile

I have also had problems with Gmail working on my 7105, i got so tired of it i just set gmail up to forward to my tmobile email acct and archive, works fine. Maybe one day Gmail will function correctly, but I'm not willing to lose email messages...who knows where they go if they don't get "popped" to my bb correctly...

Re: BB 8700 on T-mobile

I think that issue was on Gmail's end. I just foward a copy to my BB that way I can always have a copy of the original email.
