    battery issue 8700g

I've had my 8700 for a few months now and have had no problem until yesterday. My battery is draining considerably faster than usual. I thought yesterday that it had to do with programs being left over (ramble) but I left all programs off all day, didn't use the phone and even left the phone off b4 lunch. And now I'm down to almost no battery left. I had a full charge (from being plugged in all night) and its only been 7 hours. What's up?

Could be a faulty battery, maybe bring it in and get a new one. Also triple check it was fully plugged in, yeah I know, seems silly buy you never know.

What are the chances you have SONA installed on your device, because it will drain a battery very quick.

it could be some app that you have installed on your device. This happened to me too, but then when I un-install that specific app it went back to normal.

    Hi
exactly the same thing has just happened to me. Noticed the handset was losing its charge very quickly and then I charged it all day yesterday, before I went to bed the charge status said it was 100% and this morning it is bleeping and saying "drained battery"

Quick update took it back to the shop, they were very helpful and swapped the battery over. However the chap in the shop told me something which I didn't know. He said that I should only initially charge the BB for 4 hours, after that I should charge it only until the battery shows full (about a couple of hours). He said that by putting on charge for long hours that I was actually destroying the cells in the lithuam battery This actually ties in with the fact that I had started to put it on a long charge (I didn't think that you could overcharge a lithuam battery)
    Hope this helps

yes that is correct about over charging a lithuam battery although batteries have gotten better with dealing with longer charges. I mean the phone does say charge complete and dont think any extra juice will help it. Be like if you take your car to get gas and just leave the hose plugged in for a long period of time - you would be wasting your money even after the tank is full.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~use your warranty while you got it, it could just be that you need a new battery.
