You are sent a registration code that will probably be linked to your PIN number, in case you have to change devices at some point. I am guessing that the folks who make these programs are a little smarter than to let the same registration number be working on 2 pins at the same time.

From what I remember, now this goes back to when they were at 1.5 or so, the trial was 30 days, so its possible you just didnt use it up yet.

I generally stick with the RIM messengers and Ramble, with the Tmo as an added bonus, no real need with all that messaging power to pay out for an IM. Instead I spend that money on other BB programs, like Pocket Day or Soduko.

Here is a question for you Skype users...
If someone created a program for the BB so that you could use your Skype account on your BB over the data, would be you be interested?

I've been using IM+ for both BES and WAP version, and I find that there's always a lag when communicating with others. Do you guys have the same experience?

I've been using VeriChat for some time now - works great both here in the States and on my vacation in England. There is, though, some debate about just using the T-Mobile-provided IM and paying by the message ($0.10 each), if you don't do a lot of chatting.

VeriChat had no lag whatsoever, just "realtime" chat, regardless of 4am in Newcastle, England or 5pm in San Diego or Houston.

If you have unlimited text there is no charge for using the IM app from Tmobile or RIM. I haven't noticed lag with the RIM IMs or the Tmo one. Although I have not really looked for it.
