    8703e vs 8700g

my company is switching providers and we will have to switch to the 8700g. they look the same, but i noticed that the 8700g has the intel processor (not sure if that is good, bad, or indifferent). it also runs on a gsm network. aside from those two things, what is the difference?

i noticed that it says nothing about mp3 ringtone support. that would be very irritating. i hate polymorphic ringtones. does not mention gps either?

i was comparing them on the RIM site. according to them you can't tether the 8700g. is this true?

It's not bad or even different. The original RIM devices ran Intel 80386's, and the ARM division that made processors for many cell phones was then purchased by Intel. So, all Intel PXA and XScale processors are actually descendants of the old ARM line.

What's even more interesting is that Intel has recently sold the Xscale line off again to a company called Marvell Technology group. So even though they'll be of the same processor line, PXA, ARM and Xscale processors probably won't be called Intel for very long!
