    hi

i used to have a blackberry back in 2001 , the old green screen version ( sorry can't remember the model ) , i have been toying with getting a updated version.

i ran a XDA Exec with o2 , boy what a beast !! you needed to be arnie when carrying it & i walked with a limp when it was on my belt !!!

a week last monday i took the plunge & upgraded my package with o2 , as part of it i got a free 8700g .... good so far !!! wouldn't supply the 8707g ??

it took o2 4 days to upgrade my tarrif & the "forgot" the BB data package ( no BES server ) ... finaly sorted at the weeked .

cracking device , i have over 950 contacts & it sync'd no problem , heavy on the calender , thats good to ...

but email , nightmare !!! i setup my o2email account , assigned my pop address etc , but nothing happened ??? all the service books where in place , resent them more times you can shake a stick at , no difference ??
in the end , my o2email account was canncelled & i re-signed back up ...

Worked a treat for 2 days , then suddenly stopped ? i have wiped the device , resent the service books but nothing.
i can see the GPRS data & the screen adds more icon but no additional mail box & no new service books ??
i have wiped the device again tonight but nothing , the guys on the o2 desk where great but this has them foxed ...
the more it goes on , i am thinking its the device but would be greateful for any advice ..

Sorry it's a long post for my first time !!

    thank all

    Re: 8700g Help !!!!!

Mostin, sounds like you haven't been having fun with this....

On your home screen, do you have an icon entitled "Set up Internet E-mail". Did you try to set up your accounts through there or did you try it only on-line?

    Re: 8700g Help !!!!!

hi , yes something like that
no nothing , like that ?
i do get a enterprise activation icon , but when i attempted to send the service book , it disappears ?
i guess it then know it's running a internet account , instead of a BES server ?
it's like it sort of working but failing at the last hurdle
    thanks

Did O2 double check to make sure they activated your data plan?
