    8700c not booting

I was testing another phone with the SIM. When I replaced the SIM in my BB it threw me a file system corrupt error. Called Cingular support and was told to upgrade the device OS. Downloaded the required files and ran it. It looks like the device got wiped out but now it will not boot up. It just flashes a red light on top. Cingular rep told me that my BB is fried and will have to get a new one. Now I'm out of the warranty period and have to buy a new one. I also tried to run the javaloader but it is not connecting to the device. XP is able to correctly identify the device and says that the device is ready to use.

Any suggestions in this regard will be really helpful.

    Cheers

Yes I tried doing the steps mentioned in the other post but I got stuck at step 6. The DM is not able to recognize the BB. XP shows that it is connected. Tried the JL_Cmder but not sure whether it was wiping the BB. I tried the application loader to load the handheld software but it gets stuck after stating that the JVM has been loaded. Error that I get during app loader

The instructions in this thread may be a little better, try again using it, JVM Error 102 - Step by Step Fix.
