All it will do is move it around on the screen, no option to highlight the folder I want it to drop into?

Is it even possible with the 8700?

OS 4.2, I believe more specifically OS 4.2.1.96?

I goofed with it some more today, and I could not figure out how to make it work...not that its a big deal or something I absolutely can't live with...it was just to keep things organized and uncluttered.

I just played around on my Curve and it appears there are just some things you can't move into folders.~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

4.2 does not come with that capability. You can move files around and create folders with 4.5 on an 87xx device - see this thread:

Latest Official OS for 87xx Series - As of Dec. 10 2008

And find a 4.5 that will work for you. You can create folders on your desktop and move aps in and out very easily. Cheers!
