    8700c loose back cover

I have a 8700c that is about a month old and the back cover is loose. There is a gap at the top between the front a back cover that was not there when i first got it. The battery cover is also very loose and moves around. Any ideas on how to tighten these up.

    Thanks for any help

Welcome to the stacks 7Dragons!...Most 87xx owners experience the same "loose" battery cover issue, what I do is cut a business card and lay it on top of the battery and replace the cover..

    Re: 8700c loose back cover

I did not try the business card trick. I found a thread that used said to use electrical tape. I tried the tape and it worked great. Stopping the battery cover from moving made the whole phone seem a little more solid.

    Thanks for the replys

    This is a great forum!!

Anybody out there point me in to right direction to start writting programs for the BB.

I also didn't realize that the problem was not just with my unit. A (suitably trimmed) business card works like a charm; it even tightens the keyboard a bit. Overall, the build quality of each of my BlackBerries has declined noticably. My 7290 was solid, the 8700 had a loose back and keypad from early on and my 8100 was so flimsy that I gave up using it altogether. If the 8320 continues this downward spiral, I may try the Nokia e61i, despite reports of the sluggish performance of Symbian S60 devices.
