OK, so I followed your instructions and have been waiting for the phone to reboot. Nothing. The BMCP has a popup saying that this may take some time while loading/erasing files - that's been going on for 1/2 hour already.

The BB has a plain screen on it - unlike when the Desktop Manager is running, it shows an icon with the PC/BB connection screen.

Is the BB screen supposed to go blank like it does when the desktop software is running? If not then this isn't working right. The screen stays normal.

If nothing is working for you, try to do a wipe with jl cmder and then try to reinstall your OS...

    This may do it...

Thanks for your help but I'm done with this bulls hit. I'll start putting some money aside and try to buy a new berry. I'm at the point of smashing this effing thing against the wall - like I did with the last one that started acting up. When these things work, they work great. When they don't they end up in the trash.

    Once more, thanks.

OK, I'll try that. Another question; when I reinstall the OS, I'd like to do it with no add-ons. Just a plain jane OS, that way I can install the apps one by one to be sure something isn't killing the bluetooth. How can I restore the OS without add-ons?

By addons do you mean 3rd pary apps? Then yes... Once you wipe with jl_cmder, it'll all go away... Then yonce you re install the OS, you can install all your apps/themes/goodies one at a time to see if any of them are affecting the BT...

    Good luck...

Well, here's the verdict. The bluetooth did work at one time but is now inoperable. I did a full wipe and installed the oldest version of the OS. The BT is there but has the same symptoms. So somewhere along the line the BT hardware took a s hit and won't work no matter which OS, driver or 3rd party app is installed.

So I thank you from the bottom of my heart as I know you guys are every bit as busy (if not busier) as I for trying to help me out.

Eventually it will be time for a new Berry.

    Much grass,

    Marshall

Hey marshall, I'm really sorry to hear that nothing workwd for ya... But here's one last final really great option...

You can go to ebay n pick up an unlocked 8700 for under a hundred bucks... Infact I bought two of em in september, each for abt $90 shipped...

You can pick one up and just put yours up for sale after you get the new one... Just mention the bluetooth doesn't work n the rest is obviouslt fine... I'm sure ull pull atleast $60 for it...

No need to spend the big $$$...

N if you can't find one... Ill sell you one of the two I bought... (Never used em, or seen em for that matter)... Lemme know... U can always PM me or PIN me...

    Take care...

Good idea, I still have the last one I threw against the wall when I was having connectivity issues - cracked LCD. I'll ebay them both.
    Thanks.
