    8700c Can't Enable Bluetooth

After a week of searching the web for answers and not finding much in the way of anything helpful, I figured someone here may know what to do.

I don't know when it started but I recently noticed after trying to pair with another phone, that I can't enable the bluetooth. If I click the icon for the BT it does nothing. If I go into the BT options and try to enable, it says ENABLING BLUETOOTH but nothing happens.

I have pulled the battery numerous times and done the latest software upgrade - v4.5.0.110 - Nothing has worked.

Any suggestions besides replacing the phone? I'm not in a position to go out and buy a new $450 BB.

Do you think this problem possibly started after an OS upgrade? Or after you installed some 3rd party app?

No. I did the upgrade last night after I gave up looking for a workaround. As for 3rd party apps, I don't think so. I haven't added anything in a very long time, but then again I have only used the BT a couple times since I got the phone.

    Hmm...

So you aren't able to even turn on the bluetooth radio? Am I correct?

Have you recently possibly set up bes services? It policy may be restricting it?

Go to options>advanced>appliactions>blackberry system software. Go down in the list and check if you have a file called.

which was your previous OS? did the bluetooth work on that?

Marshall do these steps steps. Go to the http://www.blackberry.com/ website

    Select country: United states

copy paste this link in the url

    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do

if the URL doesnt work search for blackberry device simulators

Select your operating system version for your device simulator

After this select your device and download...

After you have done this then download the blackberry master control program 0.9.2.0 beta 6 from the web...Google it i dont have the link to it...once this is done send me a message...

Step 1. Open the Blackberry Master control program. Click on the java loader.(the java icon)

Step 2. Connect your phone to the USB. On the java loader click on load modules.

Step 3. Install the device simulator on C drive. After you install the simulator click on the COD/Jad button. Go into the folder Research in motion where you installed the device simulator. Open the java folder in the simulator folder. Select the net_rim_bluetooth.cod file

    And hit load...

After this your device will restart....before checking the bluetooth go into options>Advanced> Click on blackberry 4.5 system applications select edit default permissions.....if you see Net_rim_bluetooth file here in the library then it wont work.....Try it and let me know....
