    8700 vs 72xx

Ok so everyone has probably seen that Verizon is slated to get the 8703e I think it is going to be called. I currently have a 7250 and my biggest (and one of only a couple) is that the ringer just is NOT loud enough in any sense. Anyone with an 8700 that has had a 7200 series in the past think that the ringer on an 8700 is significantly louder? That would be a huge selling point on me upgrading. Thanks in advance for any insight.

    Re: 8700 vs 72xx

    7290 and 8700 here...

Side by side there is no volume comparison whatsoever...

    On a scale of 1-10:

    7290: 2
    8700: 11

8700 rings so loud its not funny. Sometimes, depending on the ring, you don't even need to turn vibrate on.

thats what I wanted to hear, thanks N8DBB
my 7250's ring is barely audible. I came from a samsung flip that I could hear ring in a bar with music, 7250 I can barely here while it my pocket in a quiet room.

N8 is dead on! With the speaker volume on high, you can almost wake the dead. Of course, it will vary depending on the ring. The T-Mobile ring tone is not very audible at all. My Rooster Wake-up Call wakes my neighbors up.

And the beauty of the 8700 series it uses mp3 ringtones and if the stock ringtones aren't loud enough, you can use one of the many sound editors out there and bump the output up to where it will overdrive the speaker and Blast the neighbors.

    Hope this helps

My 8700c is louder than my 7290 but results will vary depending on

    - The ringer you choose.
    - The version of the OS on your Blackberry. My 8700c was louder after I loaded Bharti on it.
    - The holster you use (if the speaker's covered, it obviously won't be very loud).
