~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ok I jsut did the google one and it went right to it. I also tried the USA today book mark and it opened right up. The only other thing I can think of is, have you altered your os? I mean is it still the os that it came with?

Just curious; what does opera mini provide that bb's own browser can't? Why need an extra browswer?

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ opera browser can sometimes get to places the bb browser can't, like myspace. It also gives you 2 browsers, which I love. I am impatient and like to pull up ine page while I read the other.

Installed and do a hard reboot, but still get error on connection. I have counter check other 3rd party apps such as piconews, and todoMatrix and their network connections are fine. So, I know my TCP setting is correct. What else could it be?

    Re: 8700 Opera?

Opera mini does not work for 8700. People are confusing 8700 with 8700g / c / v or some other variants which are supported. i read in this forum and elsewhere that opera works on 8700 and wasted several hours.

    Proof:
mini.opera.com/bb site has ota versions of 3.1 and 4 beta

when you hit that site with a 8700 the site itself says model is not recognized.

all the 3 versions of opera mini download fine and run tests. the tests fail.

i just wish i am wrong. have read so much about opera that i really want it on my phone.

Not sure what the confusion is about.

Opera Mini 4 Beta working on my 8700g (TMO) with 4.2.1.155 (4.2.1.96).
Even Opera Mini (earlier version to Beta 4) works without any problems on the same device.

is there any easier way to confirm your input besides click the trackwheel and select okay?
    this kinda bothers me...
and some shortcut doesn't work on 87xx i think..... is there any way to scroll up besides using trackwheel?
    thx
