    8700 & BBToday

Does anyone know of a BBToday version that WORKS flawlessly with the 8700g? I tried the 1.5 version, yet it seemed to locked up my device, unless there is a trick to stop this? And yes, I've search here, and Google in general...

So, any ideas would be great...

i just got the 8703e and put bbtoday 1.5 and works the same way as it did on my 7250. If i hit any key while in BBtoday, except escape and track wheel) I have to do a reboot (pull battery).

Just something i learned to work around

Yeah, albeit it's a 'work around', it's not really practical. But, thanks for the info...

Navilyn, I know a lot of people with 8700's have always had problems with getting BBToday to work well. I tried it a while ago and also had issues. Instead of continuing to wrestle with the program, I went a purchased PocketDay Personal for $19.99 from Handango. This is an excellent program and well worth the money.

All installed, and working. But, seems I get a IT Policy message, about the firewall. We don't run a Policy, except the default one. I wonder if I have to open a port or something? I think it does this when trying to access the Weather section...

I've tried BB today latest version and PocketDay app. What I've come to find out is that it is always trying to sync that it takes up too much of precious internal memory. I've seen it take up to 8 megs especially with BB today.
Basically I use the dimension today theme that seems to suffice for now.
Of course, it is just based upon my personal experience.

Dimension Today, are you saying it has some of the features of BBToday or PocketDay?

ps: I just looked at some screen shots of Dimension Today, not bad, but...

Nav, I'm also on a BES at work and didn't have any issues with the program. Have you checked with your IT group?

I had to activate the Split option on the BES IT Policy. All working fine now.
Only other question, I have my device set to 'auto' lock after an hour. Not sure if it's working at present with PocketDay installed...

I think I've been away from my device for at least an hour, then again, maybe not...

It'll work with PD installed. My BES lock out is 10 minutes and unfortunately, it locks after 10.

I've been using PD since May (registered) and it works for me. It does quit during synching but that's my only issue. I like it.

'It quits, during synching'. Do you mean when using Desktop Manager? I hardly ever connect my BB to desktop manager. But, I will test it to see...
