    wwwDOTblackberryfaqDOTcom/indexDOTphp/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads

just put a "." wherever you see "DOT". Sorry they won't allow Stack level 1 to post straight urls. This isn"t any url to worry about since it's plain on the internet with a simple search.

Thumbs down Re: 8700 4.2 Upgrade- WAS IT WORTH IT??

I have the 8700c with ATT (formerly Cingular) and recently upgraded to 4.2.1.96 courtesy of the ATT site. I have an interesting problem. About 20% of incoming calls crash and reboot the device. I tried changing the ringtone, and while scrolling through the list the handheld crashed and rebooted (on about the fourth or fifth ringtone). I've tried reinstalling with the same issue. I would go back to 4.1, but I hate the backlite timing out so quickly. Arg.

I consider myself lucky. I have 4.2 installed on my 8700c and I couldn't be happier. That being said, my BB probably saw me type this and will crash this evening just to spite me.

    A couple of key changes:

    1. MEDIA PLAYER (video and audio file support)
    2. Ability to attach your saved pictures to outgoing Emails
    3. Photo caller ID

There's other features. But, these are the general desire for one upgrading. World of difference.

4.2 works fine on my 8700c, but I still can't play videos from tinytube.net. It seems the phone just isn't capabale of doing that.

New to the 8700g, and did the upgrade soon as I got the device. I am truly impressed with it in comparison to my previous BB(Pearl). Think it was well worth the switch!
