You're going to get a lot of personal preferences stated. What features matter to you? Do you prefer SureType or full qwerty?

Go into a store and play with both of them for a while. Then you'll get a better idea of which is right for you

Comming from the 72xx era, I prefer the 87xx (full qwerty) but if your first bb was a pearl and you are used to the suretype, I would stick with it, if not used to the form factor, the 87xx would be a good choice.

    Re: 8100 vs. 8700

i've used both.. i'm not much of a phone camera buff.. its just a gimmic for me & as for MP3,i have my iPOD anyways.
i've shifted back to the 8700 awhile ago, i prefer the full QWERTY.

it will depend on how much typing you do.. though remember, you will get pretty fast with the sure type in time as well.. but still no replacement for a full keyboard.

    Re: 8100 vs. 8700

I got my 8700 yesterday. I'm still getting used to it. The display is beautiful. I thought I was going to have problems getting used to the side roller again, but it isn't an issue. The full keyboard is nice. Thanks for everyones help and advice. I'm gonna give it a few days and see how it it goes.
