    4.2 for 8800 on the 8700?

I think I installed the wrong OS for my 8700. The device runs fine, but I am sure it is 4.2 from Rogers for the 8800.

    Will this cause any problems?

    Thanks in advance.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~really it worked? Well, I will keep an eye out for errors or anything weird if you notice anything then revert back to your old os. But are you really sure you got the 8800 OS, because 8800 and the 8700 are two different device.

the OS for the 8800 is the only one i downloaded on my computer, and i recently put it on my 8800.

the themes look exactly the same for the AT&T theme and everything operates the same.

    same features as well.....

i don't know that i did something wrong, but i didnt expect it to install either....

Strange -- I wouldn't expect it to work at all. Have you verified the OS version on your 8700 and the handheld OS's that you have installed (you can check in Add/Remove programs).

What is the file name of the 8800 OS that you downloaded?

If you want the 4.2 OS on your 8700 an official upgrade does exist. I beleive it is the multilingual Chinese version. Tried it on my 8700C and didn' notice any major problems.
