I got a tmobile dash! (Not as good as my old blackberry I know but still)

It's used, in good shape, but I need to know some stuff.

Where can I get apps and themes?

    Desktop software?

    Hacks?

Thanks! It's great to be back!

Quick piece of advice to you, sale it ASAP and get a used BB again. I had the Dash for a long 6 months and fooled myself into thinking a WinMo device would be fun. The constant freezing and rebooting abruptly ended when I traded it on Craigslist for an 8310.

That sounds good. Any way I can update it to the latest os, erase it, and restore it to factory settings?

I'm not sure about updating it if you already have the Windows Mobile 6.0 or 6.1 on it cause I believe that's the newest OS, but I was able to do a Google search and found a way to to factory reset it by pushing a series of buttons n the phone. It was easy to do but I forget the exact steps.

I'm sure that will help. What I'm looking for is a function similar to the iPhone/iPods where I can erase, reset, and update in a few easy moves, with my computer.

No- I meant if you traded in to get a BB. On the Dash, you will need Windows Mobile Device Center to be downloaded on your computer in order to sync your phone. This is if you have Vista. If you have XP, then you will need the Microsoft ActiveSync downloaded to your computer. Both of these items can be downloaded via the Microsoft website.

Yes you can use Microsoft Active Sync to sync your device. I haven't done an OS upgrade using Active Sync on WM before so I don't know if it could be done but good luck with WM. I had a good experience except the devices were flimsy. If that's what you want to use, then good luck to you. I hope to be back on a WM device soon as my T-Mo contract is up next year.

T-mobile will exchange it for new bb8120 or sidekick 2008. If u got insurance on your account. Make sure your dash IMEI is on your account. Then call customer care and say the dash freezes all the time and as long as u have the insurance on your account they will offer u a new bb8120 kit. Don't take sidekick, just as men issues as dash.

Unfortunately I got the thing from my friend so I don't think T-Mobile will go for that... I'll replace the battery and trade/sell it.

Still a little confused here. Why did you buy it in the first place if you're only going to sell it? Not trying to be mean but just a question.

I got it for free. My friend gave it to me because the battery was bad and he didn't know
