    Palm Centro?

I am just recently got a job with Sprint, and even though I have a Pearl (soon to be 8320) with T-mobile, they are giving me a free phone with free service. Now Here's my dilema. Do I...

    A. Wait for the Pearl 8130 to come out next month

    Or

    B. Get the Palm Centro.

There are pros and cons between the two.

    Pros 8130
    It's a Blackberry.
    It's a Pearl, which I currently have.
It has an external MicroSD slot.
    It can record video.
    It has a trackball.
    More 3rd party apps.
    2 megapixel camera.
    Email push.
Battery life. (9 days standby time 220 minutes talk time
Built in GPS (I won't use it, but it's there)
    Size (4.2" x 1.97" x .55" and weighing only 3.4 oz.)

    Cons Pearl
    Suretype.
    IM client.
    BB browser.

(I know those can be fixed with 3rd. party apps, but I'm looking for a phone with everything.)

    Pros Centro
    Full QWERTY keyboard (Big One.)
Instant messaging client. (Way better than Pearls.)
    Email Push.
    Blazer mobile browser.
MP3 player. (I like it better than the Pearls.)
    Record video.
    Google Maps (Already installed)
Birthday's incontacts show up in calendar. (Not much but very nice feature)
    Touch screen.
    Watch TV.
    Size ( 4.22" (L) x 2.11" (W) x 0.73" (D); 4.2 oz) Not much bigger than pearl.

    Cons Centro
It's a Palm. (I've never used Palm, not saying it's bad, but I've always used Blackberry)
    Internal MicroSD slot.
Battery Life. ( 3.5 hours talk time, up to 300 hours standby time)

So I'm stuck. I don't know which I want. I have a Pearl now, and I like it alot, I just can't stand suretype anymore.
The design of both phones is great, they are both sexy phones.

    So which should I get?

I doubt on this BB forum you are going to get much love for the Centro. My opinion is the Pearl cuz the buttons on the Centro are way to close together.

I would wait for the Pearl. You can go to Pinstack with any questions -- best support there is and it's FREE. Don't know about Palm support. In my book Pinstack is a big huge plus.

Palm is dying. I'm a former Treo who converted to the 8830. Now that I have gone black, I ain't goin back

I handled the Palm briefly, over the weekend. The keys are real close together and were hard to push with my big fingers.

I'll be the one that says get the Treo. Why have 2 of the same phone?

Esp. since you are going to get a 8320 on T-mo.

    Re: Palm Centro?

If you get the palm, will they pay the bill? I'd deal with Palm if they paid it and you wanted to drop Tmo in a hurry, then get the palm. If you dont mind waiting, wait for the Pearl.
Color---it's nothing but a hue of the rainbow...why do people place such importance in it?

Having used pocket pcs, palm os pdas and blackberrys, I can just tell by your specific 'pros and cons' list that you really need to leave the Pearl alone...You can always come back to RIM once the right model for you is introduced. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

I beta tested the Palm Centro and have to say it was a nice device. But definitely not anywhere near the awesomeness of a BB.

    Re: Palm Centro?

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~i had a treo 700 p it really didn't have push email. Versa mail is not good. N that other email they had in order for it. To work one had to keep his computer on for it to work. It was really not good. I like the palm to do list. Easy to add easy to take off. If I could get that on a BB if be happy. N yes suretype is very lacking.

    Re: Palm Centro?

I have been seriously eyeballing this and would love to try this OS (yes I know all about the issues of it from Stackers here who have complained about it). One problem: T-Mobile doesn't offer it. I would have to get an unlocked AT&T Centro to be able to use this. Anyone know when, or if, T-Mo is gonna get this?
