Researchers display evidence that iOS 4 records all your travels, again
Hey guys, I stumpled across this little stippit and wondered if any of you know about it, or if it is a concern. I know that it is possible to track all phones by identifying the pings from the radio towers, but this seems to be a little more involved in that it stores the information in a database which can be accessed, and is synced to other devices. On first glance this may be a non issue, until companies get access to it, (imagine your a sales guy with a company issued IPhone, all of a sudden your company can see where you travel and when). Check out this link.
Google maps already has the option to do this with Lattitude, only difference is, is you have the option to log in, stop sharing, and choose who you share with. Personally if I know its happening it doesn't bother me too much, but if it is hidden I don't like it.
Might want to have a look at the BoyGenius report which shows all the smartphones have similar issues, but maybe not to the same extent.
