Played around with one today, was cute.. but I'm waiting for the 2nd gen to really get "savvy" about it.

Anyway, what's the word on cingular's contract length? is it the typical 90 days? Is there going to be an unlocked/unbranded iphone in the future, or is it all just speculation at the moment?

From what I have read and can remember off-hand, I think Cingular has a 5 year term on the iphone and all versions during that time period for the US.

5 years! there's no way. How can you have a lock on a phone for that long.
