Or turn off 3g that's what I did when I had mine. Turned it on when I needed it and off when I wasn't using it. 3g is what consumes most of the batter life I found.

    *facepalm*

    Worst. Post. Ever.

Keeping your screen brightness down helps a ton if you play a lot of games or stuff that keeps the screen on. 3G is another huge drain, and really hurts you if you keep it going at passive times. Like just leaving pandora running all day. From what I've found pandora runs well on edge anyway, so don't even bother w/ 3G unless you're browsing.

Another tip is to turn off the Wi-Fi while not using it or if not in a Wi-Fi area bc it will keep searching for a connection until one is found.

I have my bluetooth on all the time, the battery life doesn't make much of a difference whether its on or off...the biggest battery sucker if the brightness that is for sure.

IMO until Apple does something to fix it, the auto brightness is absolutely worthless. It's completely backwards from what it should be and I can't for the life of me figure out why it's setup this way.

The auto-brightness on the iphone is setup to darken the screen when it's bright out, and brighten the screen in the dark. It makes absolutely no sense and it's one of my biggest annoyances with the iphone.

Also, for those that don't already know, keeping 'location services' running is a huge drain as well when using some apps. A couple have a habit of staying open longer than you'd expect and the GPS chip doesn't immediately shut down which drains the battery. I keep mine off until I need it.

^^I do the same, besides when it's needed a prompt shows on the screen asking if you want to enable it. It helps to keep it off unless in use.
I'm guessing the next iPhone will have a better battery and will be just one reason to move on to the next gen phone.

It does. The article I read on it said that the battery on the new one lasts 1.5 times longer than the current one, despite having a faster processor and memory.

lol, I don't know about YOUR Bold, but mine is not exactly a battery miser. 3G is wicked hard on a battery, and that's a fact.

... mind you, *WE* can carry a spare battery for our phones.
