My turn my turn!!!! Lmao I got a question!!! I heard that the new os 3.0 was suppose to come with video recorder. And you just have to open the camera app and switch from camera to video by a lil switch on the screen. So I been upgraded for days allready and I can't get the video option. Is there a way to do it? Like th MMS thing you have to put all those words it works the same way with that? Does anyone knows how I get it to work??

Here is today's question for all you seasoned iPhone users (especially Berry migrants)...note the following:8gb 3G, Jailbroken and on T Mobile network...

Today is mod my iPhone day. I know that there are some amazing and useful app's out there, both in the store and on Cydia, but - what are the apps that I should be looking at to improve the devices functionality and correct some of the shortcomings it seems it does have compared to the Blackberry?

For example, when it comes to searching contacts all I have found is the screen with the little tiny letters (or I can simply page through my 1300+ contacts ) - and how about voice dialing? I use that quite a bit while driving....etc, etc, etc....

Spotlight search w/3.0. First screen (swipe left) it will display contacts on the second letter typed. first or last name does not matter and you can also select them or even launch an App if that applies.

    Useful Apps? Link

    Shazam - free
    WebMD - free
    Dictionary - free
    Voice Memos - GS only
    Beejive - IM Client
News Fuse - 36 sources in one App.
    WiKi Mobile
Now Playing - Movies and Netflix manager

Checkbook - simple easy to use
    PocketMoney - detailed with options

Here is the video link I was looking for earlier and couldn't find.
That Theme shown is also nice. I have it and it's neat.

    UPDATE:

Things are going pretty smooth. I continue to have WiFi issues, not the least of which is I sometimes have to disable WiFi in my office (sitting next to a router) in order to get data services .

I have installed Winterboard but not yet used it. I have installed GV Mobile (thru Cydia) it works great and appears to provide free SMS which seem to show up in the SMS app (still not sure about this - can anyone confirm?).

Backgrounder looks useful - I am excited about Tweetdeck - looks just like the windows version which will make it my favorite mobile twitter app! A few of the other basics like Skype, Vlingo (voice dialing remains clumsy if someone has a better suggestion) , Linked-in (nice GUI), Google Mobile Apps

To clean up my in box (the unread count was driving me insane!) I set up IMAP on my Gmail (not crazy about how it interfaces with outlook now) and set Gmail to pick up my POP account on Verizon an deleted it from the phone. This gives me wireless sync for folders as well as read & deleted messages. Still tweaking this aera but I think it will work out fine.

I plan to update this thread from time to time with similar observations (I am not as disciplined as Cherri who kept a daily diary )

Anyone with any observations or suggestions or questions feel free to participate!

New update. The WiFi issue is not with the device. I visited the Apple Store and WiFi worked fine. So I brought home an Airport Express WiFi router and I am now surfing on WiFi at blazing fast speeds. App Store and Cydia & Skype all seem happy now....something about the linksys router....
