Is there no way to mark your emails as read? As in "mark prior opened" or mark all opened"?
No cheating, they are marked read when you read them or open the email.

To answer the question tho? No you can't do that. Not that I'm aware of anyway?

Well there appears to be a Cydia app that will do it but I am having limited luck with installing stuff from Cydia (about 50% failure rate right now

Someone else want to try this one:

I'm selling my last Jailbroken phone tonight so I'm out of Jailbroken phones.
I'm left with a factory GS.

with that being an installer repo, it will not allow you to install via cydia.
has to be done through Icy or installer.

add this source to cydia: http://apt.ripdev.com
then download and install Icy and add http://iphone.r4m0n.net/repos to Icy

I realized I didnt explain what icy/installer was so I added the steps to make that program work after the inital post.

Icy/Installer is a system similar to cydia that was actually around before cydia but after OS 2.0 has lost quite a bit of its following.

You will need to install the ATT_US.ipcc file first which will enable those options including Tethering.
I hate to even mention it b/c I forgot how I installed it?

Here is a link to the instructions.

    Link

    Additional information

Also if you try to load/install the file and it's grayed out still remember you have to use the Terminal command before it will be available (no longer grayed out).

    Terminal Command:
defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE

More instruction with the carrier file

One last link, surf here using your iPhone browser and install direct to your phone. It will enable Tethering.

It can also be uninstalled via the iPhone.

Sorry 4 the messy post, My memory is not what it used to be and It was months back when I did everything.
Not trying to HiJack Gary just trying to answer the Q.
