That about says it all....redsnow is stuck on the wiating for reboot screen (3G iphone). I assume the device is in DFU mode as when I stopped and re-started redsnow it went right into the installations and ended up back at the same place.

Anyway - black screen, nothing seems to fix that, and waiting for reboot - suggestions?

FOund this on youtube.........this is what he has written about it.......

"hey guys this is just a little video to tell you guys if you followed my redsnow beta jailbreak and your ipod stuck at the boot logo you can fix it by putting it into dfu mode and then restore in itunes, also try disconnecting the device, hold power and hold button until it turns off, and then plug it back into your computer and open itunes and your ipod might turn on like mine did when i tried a couple days ago."

Might check this video out it might help get it back on so you can retry your jailbreak....??

    Thanks everyone.....

    Update

Hold Power and Home for 15 secs and Power for 2 more rebooted. However nothing seems to have happened...

I also seem to have problems with QuickPwn (Qp never gets past "putting your phone in recovery mode")

    Suggestions?

Best tell me the steps to place it in recovery mode....

And since I am not able to get past the first screen, how can I be sure what firmware is installed?

as far as the firmware you can't without it being on....sorry thought you might just know....

Open iTunes and connect the iPhone

Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake(power) button at the same time

After exactly 10 seconds release the Sleep/Wake (power)button. Continue holding the home button until you iTunes pops up a message telling you that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode.

edit: sometimes it takes a few tries....lol

Ok, I happen to have an ATT Sim laying around so - I am now connected to itunes.
    Software is 2.2.1
It wants to install 3.0 - I assume that I should do that now before jailbreaking?

yes yes yes ........that could be why it didn't take on the jailbreak.....I think the new redsn0w is for 3.0 software...not 100% sure....do the 3.0 update and then retry the jailbreak again should work

Still loading 3.0 - then I will see if I can do this without a panic attack this time...
