Hi I had to replace my blackberry pearl because it stopped working and got an iPhone 3G and its been amazing since I've got it. I have friends in other countries and have blackberry devices and would love to get back on the blackberry messenger if I can without buying a new blackberry. Any help would be greatly appreciated

There are several cross-platform clients that function similarly to BBM, including one called PingChat which is my current favorite. Just need to get your friends to load it as well.

Thank you I was wishing there was a way for me to connect as it would be interesting explaining to them how to add and use applications

IM+ is a good one too. It combines FaceBook, twitter and GTalk all in one.

Yes, indamndeed!! I'm converting all my friends with their fugly droid phones capable of video chat to convert to yahoo messenger so we can video chat. "Free video chat" MSN better step it up a notch.
What's the matter? CIA's got you pushing too many pencils?

That dude is crazy...First time I saw it I was like cool. But if you actually watch the whole thing in detail you have to have a blackberry with a data plan and log into your bb from your iphone in order to control your bb kinda like pcanywhere for pc's which in this case will enable you to receive and view and send bb messages to friends and such... Nice try but epic fail on getting rid of the BB as a whole. Like chokemm said IM+works well and so does other platforms like kik and many others. I for one don't miss BBM at all. I can finally pay attention to the people around me without having to hear that annoying chirp sound lol.
