Nokia e71 3g
Hello everyone, I sold my bold and was looking around on the market for a new smart phone. So I got myself the e71 and love it. So many things I can do. But the only problem is that its not connecting on 3g but edge. I'm on rogers and I'm not too sure if its compatible, I bought the phone unbranded and unlocked.
Any info would help. Thank you

It is 3g without doubt in the UK.

E71 3G working on Rogers would depend on which version of the phone you have.
3 Models are sold in the world.
E71-1 (EU) Quad-band EGSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 900/2100 HSDPA
E71-2 (NAM) Quad-band EGSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 850/1900 HSDPA
E71-3 Quad-band EGSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 850/2100 HSDPA
Based on this website:
Canadian GSM Coverage
Rogers seems to provide 850/1900 3G coverage which means the
E71-2 (NAM) is the compatible model which should be used.
Look for
Type: RM-357
Model: E71-2
under the battery on your phone.
If you find it different, you just might be out of luck.
Also, it wouldn't hurt to check that your account has been
properly provisioned for the 3G data coverage with Rogers.

Unfortunately, with the version of the phone you have, it doesn't have the correct radio for 3G in Canada.

Sad, but true.
Unless you are still within the 15/30 day return/exchange policy period??
Rumors are that the E71 is actually coming to Rogers anyway!!
Check this piece of news out->
Confirmed: Nokia E71 officially coming to Rogers

Its out and its cheap! Looks like a javelin(curve 8900) love the look and feel of it plus wifi and 3g. Javelin does not have 3g~via BB8900 (wap.pinstack.com)~

Oh. I don't know why you decide to say good bye to BB. Actually, E71 is not as good as Blackberry 8320 or 8900, even Bold.
My friends in singapore, most of them say good bye to E71 and back to BB.

I have used NOKIAs a while long then last year I had a 8320 then bold I’m back to NOKIA E71 interface is much faster but you lose the BB messenger to me not to important anymore

I agree... The only thing a good nokia phone lacks is BBM.. But other than that, they are really solid phones.
