~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~Nokia N61 Features/Specs – • Expandable Memory – 64MB hot swappable miniSD card • Active Matrix Display • 16 Million Colours ( 320 x 240 pixels) • Light Sensor for the keypad display lighting control • 2 keys that are very soft with a 5 way joystick • Full Keyboard • MMS for text, voice, video clips, images • POP, IMAP, SMTP ans MS Active Sync • Voice dialing • Enhanced Voice Commands • Dedicated Voice key for voice recording • Push To Talk • POP Port Interface • USB Port • Bluetooth • Real Video and Real Audio • Multi Connectivity – WLAN • EGPRS Class B, MSC 11 • GSM, GPRS • Advanced Device Management • Speed Dialing of up to 8 names • Call Waiting, Call Divert, Call Time and Call Hold • Automatic Redial • Caller ID with image • Conference Calling • Vibrating Alert • Handsfree Speaker • Standby Time – (GSM up to 17 days) – (WCDMA up to 10 days) – (GSM/WCDMA and WLAN up to 9.5 days) • Talk Time – (GSM up to 9 ˝ hours) – (WCDMA up to 5 hours) – (VoIP up to 4 ˝ hours) • Alarm Clock • MP3 and AAC Music Player • Auto Lock • Calculator • Note Pad • Wi-Fi • Infrared • Multiple Languages • Custom graphics/Ringtones • Web Browser • Side Keys • To Do List • Java Basically tho it has similar features to a blackberry. Such as the keyboard and such. It still is not a Blackberry. So to answer your question in some ways it is "BBish" but not something I would be willing to give up a true Blackberry for. Just throwing my stone in the water so to speak. |

Wow! Sounds like a cross between my BB and my pda (which doesn't get out much since I got the BB). I assume with all those features, esp the full keyboard, that its form factor is more like the 8700 than the 7100. I do like the expandable memory and ability to play videos, though. But now that I'm used to it, I think I'd have a hard time giving up push email. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ |

The E61 is sexy to me for probably 2 specific reasons. 1) Removable memory, I don't know how many times I could've used that on my BB. 2) It has Wifi. Which means if I bribe some guys at the IT department where I work, I can have my own company extension on my cell and only while I'm at work! Exciting! |

That sounds pretty awesome, but unfortunately since I'm on a 7100i, I don't think it will work for me. Hope springs eternal, though. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ |

It does come with the Blackberry connect client. Anyone have any experience with that? If that works well it could be a good mix of features.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ Bb connect is not working as it should from my opinion. Contacts are not being synched ota, but can be through the nokia pc client. Calendar and mail works fine altough there is a delay compared to the bb. I tested a beta version from t-mobile since they are not releasing it yet. Hope this helps a bit. |

| Re: Nokia E61 With Blackberry form factor
Going back to my apologies thread....this E61 is what i moved from and back to the BB, and whilst the shape and form is really attractive, if you have ever owned an N70 or the likes its the same. Here in the UK, this is what they are selling as the "New" BB system. Unfortunately, the majority of phone users in the UK wont even like this, as it seems unless you can have mp3 ringtone, a camera and bluetooth in the smallest phone possible then its not worth looking at. The big thing here atm is: HTC Tytn MDA Vario Xda Mini S Nokia 8800 Sony Ericsson K800i or any walkman based phone.... |

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ hey everyone. Just so I'm clear an original bb syncs mail, contacts, tasks, notes and calendar. What does bb connect sync on non bb devices? Just mail and calendar? Thanks!

| Re: Nokia E61 With Blackberry form factor
A huge downside for me with the E61, or E62 as cingular has released it, is that you cannot do a lookup in the BES address book. You have to have the contacts in your contact list, and that does not update OTA.

However... it is pretty well hidden within the phone.I have used the E61 on Cingular's network on and off for about two months now, and I liked it a lot. Slower than the BB as far as menus go, but just as fast in receiving emails with the BES client. BIS was about the same speed too. BES and BIS at the same time worked OK, and the BlackBerry Personal Unlimited worked great as well. Back to the lookup in the company directory... when you write a new email, click the options button while the cursor is in the To field, and one of the options will say "Look up in company directory" or something like that. Also.... download the Opera browser for it. As good as the Nokia browser is, Opera is even better! |
