Been waiting for the s-off/permanent root for a bit now, and it was finally released yesterday. Ish post a link, but I think if you're interested in details a quick Google will find it.

Painless for the most part. unrevoked and AlphaRev have created an easy to use tool that (if you follow directions) will give your 3D, and from what I can tell, most eMMC devices s-off.

From there rooting is easy, and the new recovery tool from teamwin works flawlessly.

Spent night backing up, flashing rom and generally playing.

If Roger says its ok I'll edit with link to other forum.

Any way the info can be placed here as a turorial of some sort? Don't like "stealing" things from other forums and yet would like to have the info here for our users and others to find it

    Does that make sense ?

I'll try later today unless another wants to try.

Was walking with our very old laptop and managed to break hinge. Then I managed to do more damage afterwards.
Will have to type it up on mobile. I'll try though.

Ok, so I've got most of it done. Have to upload 2 files to my dropbox and finish up. Give me about 20 minutes.

BTW, I don't recommended typing a tutorial on a mobile device.
