I installed .190 (trying to upgrade from .167) to my computer in hopes that the update might solve the problem I'm having with my Bold not pairing with my hands free link in my Acura. I followed the instructions and deleted the vendor.xml file, but DM still doesn't prompt me to upgrade. However, annoyingly enough, it prompts me to update Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish Language support every single time I launch DM, even if I tell it "Update Now" to update it (I don't speak/need any of those languages).

After I do that, it goes to the update summary screen, which says "No software update is required for your device."

If I go into Application Loader, and click on "Start" under Update Software, it shows that .190 is available, but when I check the box next to the .190 update and click next, it sends me back to the update summary screen, which says "No software update is required for your device."

Am I doing something wrong here?

Same situation happen to me.

I reboot my computer and I went to the apploader and I was able to upgrade my computer.

Try rebooting your computer, and be sure to delete the vendor.xml file as well.

I tried that, and have deleted the vendor.xml file, and still no-go. I'll try again.

Edit: same thing. Going to uninstall and reinstall everything...

Edit 2: Still no dice. Awesome. Oh and I can't even wipe it with JL_Cmder because it won't install to my machine at all.

try removing the desktop manager and reinstall just the update. And try again with the apploader.

Thanks for the input, I just thought that because my version is a fair bit older it might be worth updating. I guess I'll hold off until I see concrete evidence that there's a solid benefit to anything newer then my 4.6.0.125.

DM 4.7 didn't work for me, I had to downgrade to DM 4.6 (running vista x64). Updating to 4.6.0.190 went very smoothly, so far no problems yet!! Reception seems a lot better on the AT&T network, and after a battery pull, I have over 60mb free space!! Thats with no apps installed.

I think if anything I've taken a couple steps backwards with .190 so far. I seem to see the phone bouncing back and forth between 3G and Edge VERY often and battery life has really started to suffer as a result.

I've noticed people saying that they're reverted back to .162, I neglected to notice that .162 was the last release actually put out by Rogers (my carrier) so I'm gonna give that a shot.

I'm not foreign to installing OS updates from other carriers on my phone, but I might as well try the most up to date version that's from my carrier before I start looking every other place for something that I'm happy with.

I ran 167, 185 and 190 is the best OS in MY OPINION. I live in So California (go SC). Big improvent on the reception and battery. I constantly have my wifi and bluetooth on. The freeway I travel were I would always dropped calls on 167 and 185 are a thing of the past. I won't hold my breath for Att to release an update. Look what happend with the curve.

I read some place that if you have your Desktop Manager to do automatic updates people are not able to get the 185 or 190 to install.
You either got to go into add remove programs press the DM un install and when it says repair un install or modify. You press modify and remove the check next to auto update.
If that don't do it you have to un install and re install the DM. Now I don't know if that is with only the 4.6. Or also the 4.7 also
I wish someone would fix this thing to word wrap in a reply box this is bull crap

Yeah, the word wrap issue is pretty ridiculous...probably the only thing I really dislike about 4.6/the bold.

On a lighter note, .162 is kicking some serious a$$ so far. I have yet to drop below 50% signal strength on the 3G connection. As a result of the more consistent network connection I have had MUCH better battery life so far.

I'm so happy with the bold so far, now we just gotta find a way to get this word wrap thing sorted out.
