Leonard O I was wondering if you were able to work around this problem because I too am experiencing the same issue. Both the 'Phone Vendor' and 'Phone Model' are grayed out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Sonia |

Is this possible for a netbook and BB Curve 8330? Would I have to purchase one of those little Bluetooth devices that you plug into one of your USB ports? I have seen it done with a USB cable, but not Bluetooth.

flipnaman's info was what I needed to correct the PPP error I was getting when trying to tether through Bluetooth. Thanks!! Does the BB Desktop provide the modem driver to allow me to tether through the USB port?

| Tethering Error
I've been trying to Tether my Blackberry Bold for a while now. I follow the instructions and still can't get it to work. When I click "connect" it disconnects and says "Could not negotiate a connection with the remote PPP server. Please verify your settings and try again. Help!! |

| Need Help...So close!!!
I have installed the BB Desktop manager for Mac and changed the settings as listed above on my phone and computer. I click connect and the phone changes to a while screen saying "connecting to desktop" after a long time of trying to connect it fails and comes back saying there is a modem error and check my settings. Any ideas?

How to Tether These are the instructions to tether a tmobile blackberry bold 9700 to a macbook pro first start off by downloading a modem script for the blackberry bold (google to look around for the script) after downloading the script go to your finder click your HD or main computer hard drive place the script inside the modem script folder now begin to set up the bluetooth connection for the configuration vendor = “other” (if there isn’t an option to select “other” the wrong driver was downloaded) model type = “blackberry bold” (if there isn’t an option to select “blackberry bold” the wrong driver was downloaded) username = tmobile.com username password = tmobile.com password phone number = wap.voicestream.com make sure both boxes are selected click continue go to the new modem button on top right bar (looks like a phone) select “connect bluetooth dun” |
