BlackBerry 9000 Info Leaked About Bad Battery

Not very much has been confirmed about the BlackBerry 9000, but one of the underground ninjas at Research in Motion has decided to leak some info for us to consider.

He’s gone hands on with the highly anticipated handset, providing all sorts of first impressions.

For starters, most of the rumored specs are holding up to the real world test. This means that the BlackBerry 9000 is equipped with a speedy 624MHz processor, 480×320 screen, GPS, Wi-Fi, and 3G. Combining all of these things, the tipster found that the web browser is very fast, loading “web pages in 3-4 seconds.”

on a 3G device, you have to expect to have not much of a battery life, compared to older phones. The good thing is that you can always switch 3G off and select edge ''only'' if you want to conserve power because you know you are not gonna have access to power supply for a while.

My curve and 8800 almost run out every day, but i am still not worried at all about the 9000.

Frankly I do not perceive it to be a "bad battery" as the title of this thread suggests. In addition every product made is always a comprimise of features vs performance.

In this case let's take a moment to break it down. Anytime you increase the size of the display that is going to affect battery life, as the display requires the most power of all the components. Then on the new 9xxx we have the faster processor, another draw on the battery. Finally there is this unrelenting demand for slim devices which severely limits the physical size of the battery. These are just a few examples out of many.
Thus I find the estimated battery life to be very reasonable. Furthermore, it will be very easy to work within this window of battery run time. We have plenty of A/C plugs wherever we go. Then there is the car charger, which will cover our needs just fine.

BlackBerry by RIM... Simply Brilliant!

I believe you are right on, other than one detail: it's my understanding that it's not a bet, but a surcharge of $3.13, therefore you are off by a penny.....

Cheers!

Hah, that's averege battery life, the ninja expected way to much out of the device, its just refreshed device, bescides with the fetures that are oferred, I am mazed how they even got four hours of the talk time! To be honest, baterry is something that really needs changing, on my curve, if I use it the way I want it, after leving to work at eight, the battery is dead by about 5, I find that very disapointing, as I do not have access to the power as I am out on the field! And after that I have to go to the gym, and being a one device person, I have no music, sad sad, I wish they improved the battery, that what really a revolutionary feature in the device!
