What does "Do Not Disturb" under profiles do?

This may be a stupid question with a really simple answer, but when editing profiles, under the 'Phone' settings there is a "do not disturb" option.

Anyone know what this does?

Ringing and Other Notification Options

If you set
your Profile to Do Not Disturb, your phone will go right to voicemail.

If you don't have voicemail (like myself), then it is the same as pressing "Ignore" on an incoming call, which immediately disconnects the caller and leaves the caller listening to a fast busy signal, or a greeting from your carrier about being out of the service area.

I have tried to use my do not disturb before and for some reason, it just won't do the deed. What I would like to know, does it work for sms,email and the such? Or is it just for phone calls?

John, I don't see that option for either SMS, MMS, email or anything else. So I guess it's just for Phone Calls.

It seems to work well for me on phone calls but I have never been able to get it to work for Nextel Direct Connect. The option is there, but it doesn't seem to tell the caller I am unavailable.

Anyone have luck with that on a 7100i?

Gary, it won't tell the caller that you are unavailable. It'll just go directly to voicemail without even ringing the phone. You shouldn't even see the call coming in. You should just be alerted when a new voice mail is received.
