Well it would help if you gave us the whole error message. There are a bunch of different messages that start with that and each one has a different cause.

I have been dealing with this for so long I am sick of it. I have read so many posts , wiped my phone, re-installed my OS, done the whole nine-yards. Has anyone come up with a solution that will eliminate this problem and keep it from happening all the time when I boot my bb up when I do app downloads and etc?

Found out its the address book.
What was wrong with the address book to cause this and what did you do to correct it?

For the 7100i Nextel OS 4.1 (could be also an affect to other carriers and devices), I FINALLY found out what is wrong with it when it comes to the Uncaught Exception: java.lang.illegalstateException - When you enable the password, and you reboot and/or a (battery pull) it will make you type your password in, well when you do this error pops up.
I have tested it twice by disabling the password, shutting down, pulling the battery and booting back up it will not show or display the error anymore.

I had the exact same problem with my 8320 Curve and I tried all of the suggestions I found on this and other pinstack discussions. What finally worked: I went to the TMobile store and the guy there told me that the problem was due to my having such an old SIM card (I've been a TMo customer for years and have had the same card all that time). He gave me a new sim (keeping my same phone number) and the problem has been solved. Hope this helps.
I am gettig the same thing!!!!!!!Originally Posted by Reno84
Do you use jive talk?
I stopped this issue by wiping (but backed up my contacts and profiles before wiping) and it was gone after I did a re-install of the 4.1 OS. Never used JiveTalk (only BB Messenger)
