Anyone know how to create a different mailbox for just MMS and SMS? It gets cluttered with all my different e-mail accounts included. Thanks for the help.

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

Only the Zen theme separates SMS/MMS.

There may be a way to hide certain message types in other themes....but I don't know know how to do that.

Vodafone today theme also separates email and sms/mms. It's not real fancy as far as themes go. Nice and simple.

Re: Separating MMS and SMS messages from e-mail

As stated in previous posts, unless you want to use one of the themes that have this feature, you can't separate them. You can create filters that will show only email when the filter is active. Use the search feature from the Message App Menu. Change the Type setting to email, and Save. Give it a name and set a short cut key when you save it.

Now when you go to Messages, activating the shortcut key will list only the email.

Another option, that I do, is to save all SMS messages. I have the Hide Saved Messages active and after saving them, I delete the copy in the main Messages List. If i want to see them I just use the "V" key shortcut to view saved messages.

    Hope this helps

Thanks for the info. Going along with that... does anyone have a good, neat, professional theme that does this? Where did you find it?

    Thanks... Go Jags!

RCBJR... So how would I do it so the e-mails would go to another folder and keep the MMS and the SMS in the messages folder? Can you rename the folder?

Re: Separating MMS and SMS messages from e-mail

First off, You must understand that the main list in your Message App is not a folder, nor an Inbox, It is a list of all messages on your BB. You can Hide some messages, those that are saved or if the option is still available, filed in folders.

Now as to your request, this may be a problem for you. Your profile says Cingular and since your fairly new, I must assume you are on BIS 2.x. If this is the case, you're out of luck as the ability to use folders to manage you emails on you BB was deleted in this "Great Upgrade to BIS". If by chance you are lucky enough to have bought your BB before the transition and still have BIS 1.8, with the ability to create and use folders then you can file an incoming message when it comes in, but it can't be done automatically. It can be set up with Filters on your BIS 1.8 so that when you go to File the message the correct folder is already selected.

There is a link in my sig to a post that may help understand more

    Hope this helps,
    Rcbjr.

Re: Separating MMS and SMS messages from e-mail

There is a setting in the newer BlackBerrys and OSs that allows you to select seperate, combinded, or theme based for SMS/MMS and Emails

In your email under Options, General Options I believe

Re: Separating MMS and SMS messages from e-mail

I always forget how to do this. You would think 'options' would have this , err, option. It doesn't on my 8700g. I love how things move around with every revision.

Instead you have to first enter the 'Messages' app and
selection 'options' once you are in there. This particular setting is in 'General Options'.. alll the way at the bottom you'll find 'sms and email inboxes -> seperate'

    hope that helps.
