Well, I have been reading for a little while...and love the forum. I have a real rookie question. Im currently use nextel service with a i830 phone. So...Im dead set on a 7100i. Im going to buy one. My question is...am I stuck with having to use a 7100i or can I use any other 7100 series. I know each carrier uses different frequencies, but are there any others that would work with nextel other than the "i" series?

You can only use the 7100i with nextel. They are not GSM like most BB carriers.

Dang it. GSM? So there is NO way? No even if I get the carrier to release the IMEI and PIN?

No Nextel uses IDEN. Totally different technology.

Dang dang dang! Now I have to find a 7100i for as cheap as the other 7100's.
