    Resetting/Turning off/Updating?

    I've noticed that at random times, my 7130e will just turn off on its own. The screen will go compleley white and then a flipping animated hourglass appears on the screen and my LED coverage indicator light stays red.

    After the white screen goes away, the Sprint logo will appear on my screen and it takes about a minute for my BB to come back on. When this happens, is the BB updating itself?

    Is there any way to change this?

    hi johnny - it really shouldn't do that! have you tried an OS update?

    What do I go to for the update? I called tech support a few weeks ago and they said I was up to date on the software

    Same here, I have experienced this with all BB's Ive had. Could be a simple battery issue in your case, seen that many times before also.

    Even though you have the most up to date software sometime reloading the software helps refresh your BB.

    Check your battery if its installed properly and see if its not loose since it could be loosing connection with the blackberry battery connectors, clean battery connectors and/or pins on the blackberry. Also, you could cut a business card and lay it on top of the battery then put the cover on, if its a battery loose problem, this could help.
    I find that on all 87xx's I've owned, the business card tip helps while using the speaker phone..less "vibration"

    I see on your profile that you have a 7100i
    If so, the latest software for your phone is at (Nextel):
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...B9D5EE16489088
    Veify the version of the software that your device has installed by going to Options-About
    On the third line it should say v4.xxxxxx (platform xxxxxx)
    The newest os for the 7100i (nextel) is v4.1.0.376 (Platform 2.1.0.46 )
    If this is what you have on your device, then is the latest software.
    If not, go to the link that I provided you with and download the software for the 7100i, currently it has 2 available versions for downloading, the first one is the most up to date one.
    After downloading, make sure desktop manager is close and the bb is not connected.
    Install what you just downloaded. Connect your bb and run desktop manager, it should detect that there's an update available for your bb and follow prompts. Hope this helps..

    yup i do have the 4.1 all i'm trying to do is customize my phone with ringers. i know if i have the latest os software then my phone will read wav files. when i try to download the files to my phone from a link someone suggested it read error 406 and said my browser doesnt support those type of links.

    Go to Options/Advanced Options/Browser and see if you can set the Default Browser to Internet. Then try downloading the wav file again.
