Can someone please tell me how I can download stuff on to my BB. I am a beginner and not very good with computers.

I wanted to download the maps and also change the colors on the track ball but I do not know what to do do.

When I hook the USB cable from my phone to the computer I get a message on my phone saying "USB charging is not sufficient. Verify that your handheld is connected to a powered USB source and that the proper USB driver is installed"

What do I do?
Do I just simply plug the USB cable from the phone to the desktop and clicj "download"?
Do I have to do something to my phone first?

Please help, I have no idea how to do this, I woulod really like to download maps, colors for the trackball and can you tell me which are the best maps to download -I am in Edmonton Alberta Canada.

PS .....I have been sitting on the computer for 6 hours now and just cannot figure out what to do!!!

Try these forums and it will help you tremendously. Also, you need to install the Desktop Manager on your computer for the charge capabilities to work and to install programs through the Application Loader.

to download blackberry maps, you can go to mobile.blackberry.com (no www.) from your phone browser or you can download it to your computer http://www.blackberry.com/devicesoft...y.do?code=maps and use the desktop manager.

try pluging the usb cable (i assume its the one that came with the phone) in a different usb port. worked on my friends laptop.

to download the color pearl app to your computer click here http://www.geekandproud.net/blackber...colorpearl.zip. to download the app directly to your phone, direct your phone browser to here http://www.geekandproud.net/blackber...colorpearl.jad. easiest way to do that is copy the link and email it to your phone, then you can just click the link in your email.
