    No data account=flat battery?

When I use a sim card with no data account in my 7130v, I notice (by leaving it next to my PC speakers) that it transmits a short pulse to the network every few seconds, perhaps trying and failing to connect? The phone functions, but it's taking charge from the battery when it needn't.

Any ideas on how to disable GPRS when there's no account?

I believe that's an SMS signal which doesn't require BlackBerry Data Service - and may not be able to be turned off, but check with your provider.
