    JVM 523. Help!

Help. Just loaded some new themes from a link on BlackberryCool. First one worked fine. When I tested the second theme, my BB locked and I got JVM error 523. Reset it. Removed the battery and reset. Cannot connect to desktop manager to try to restore a backup....

Help. I need this fixed before work tomorrow.

I had to wipe and restore, but I'm good now. Don't know what went wrong though.

Maybe they were not compatible with your BB OS version?

I'm running 4.1 on a 7100i. Not sure. Maybe they didn't load right when I loaded them or something. I'm just going to have to miss out on some themes. No biggie.

    Re: JVM 523. Help!

It was the 'Indiana' theme from the 5-Pack posted on http://www.kradest.com/

I loaded all the ones he had, and the 'Food' theme worked fine.
But when I tried the 2nd one (indy), it crashed. I thought something was odd when the Options menu text changed to smaller than I had ever seen. I keep my fonts on 7pt, so this must've been 4pt or so. Then it crashed.

Might I have made an error in loading somehow? I'd love to know why I'm the first to have this happen with this particular theme. If it's all over BlackberryCool and RIMarkable, then people have to be using it and not having problems.

I left a comment on the author's blog about the problem.

I had to wipe all data, then reload from a backup of 2 weeks prior. Open the desktop manager and reset the handheld. When the handheld is almost booted up, the desktop will connect. Then swiftly, before it errors out, you have to enter the application loader, and go through the options till you get to erase all data from handheld. Check the box and wait for it to cycle through. Warning though, you will lose all emails, phone numbers, etc. I hope you have a recent backup copy you can load afterward. But that did the trick, no problems since.

I had the same problem. Spent 2 hours on the phone with Nextel BB support. They landed up sending me out a new unit. Just so happened that my hard drive on my desktop crashed the next day. I don't know if they're related.

Ew, painful sounding. Good thing they were nice enough to send out a new unit though.
