Is there a way 2 "mark all open"? (New BB user w/7100i)

Hello, Everyone!!!

I'm a new BB user with a Sprint/Nextel 7100i. I need to know if there is a way to mark all msgs as opened to clear the count of unopened/unanswered msgs. I use the BB for email, but in the office I'm on Outlook so the BB just racks up a count of msgs for me to have to open manually.

We do not have the Enterprise Server.

This is a very cool board and I'm glad I found you all!!!

Advice is appreciated!

Hello and welcome to pinstack.com Go into messages on your BB, click the trackwheel while you have the date highlighted and you will see mark prior opened. Works like a charm.

Welcome. Hold down the # key and scroll with thumbwheel to select emails you wish to mark. Click wheel and select "Mark Opened". Anything more than 20 or so will take a few seconds to complete. Can take as long as a couple of minutes to process.

You should resolve the messages after a short time showing what was read from outlook. You can also disable the device from receiving emails when in the cradle. But what cp6169 said is the fastest way

When I do this there is no mark opened option.

At my office, if I view my emails in Lotus Notes using the "Preview Pane", (I know it sounds lazy but my office network is so slow and anything with an attachment will not fully open in the preview pane),it does not mark the messages as "Read" on the 7100. You will only see that option with unread emails.

cp, It won't be there if none are unopened. Verify this by highlighting one and Marking it Unopened. Then highlight serveral and check again. The option should be there then.
