HELP - Wireless Sync

I have installed the blackberry desktop manager (BES) with the desktop redirector on my laptop that is always ON - I connect to my company's HQ via Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 version; all works and I get my corporate email as well as my other emails; however, when I tried to change the settings to setup WIRELESS SYNC for my calendar, it all went well until this message "YOUR MESSAGING SERVER DOES NOT SUPPORT WIRELESS SYNCHRONIZATION. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SYSTEM ADMONISTRATOR FOR ASSISTANCE" - what gives? I don't understand - do I need to change something else on my laptop? is Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 not supporting wireless?
ANy help/advice would be appreciated.

Re: HELP - Wireless Sync

Your IT policy does not allow wireless sync of yout Calendar. You'll have to ask your BES admin to activate even if it's for your device only.

Re: HELP - Wireless Sync

thanks hydn! that's useful and I got a few good tips! However, there's no IT policy that I am aware; I work remotely (Buffalo) and office is in Rochester; I have a laptop where Exchange has been configured so when I use Outlook I can see my partner's calendar and vice-versa. I installed the ReDirector on my laptop (always on and pretty much stationary) - I only use the BB and sometimes a PocketPC. Under the link you showed me (BES IT POLICY) if I look under SECURITY OPTIONS on my 7130e the settings are:
General Settings
Applications Permissions
Certificate Servers
Certificates
Firewall
Key Stores
TLS
WTLS
I cannot find IT POLICY NAME or LAST UPDATE anywhere - perhaps I am looking in the wrong place; Verizon told me I could definitely sync OTA;
any further suggestions would be welcome.

Thx, Carl

Re: HELP - Wireless Sync

In order for wireless calendar sync to function your bb has to be managed from a BES server running version 4.0 or better. The desktop redirector does not support wireless calendar sync. This a Blackberry enterprise server function only.

Re: HELP - Wireless Sync

Boss and I have different BB models but same problem. BB calendar entries will not sync to Outlook on company server; but calendar entries on server do update BB. Email works fine. Can't find answer anywhere.
