apart from styling, the major changes were a brighter, clearer screen and the beveled keyboard added to the 7105t. the 7100 screens were difficult to read in sunlit spaces, even with the screen brightness set to its highest level. the keyboard, while not really a target of complaints before, became extremely comfortable with the new inverted scalloping, making it easier to tell by feel when you crossed a row.

the earpiece was also improved, both externally and internally, and the microphone was somewhat better at filtering out ambient noise (and for guys like me, beards no longer added texture to the audio).

in general, the 7105t was hands down better than the 7100 - a true upgrade by all counts.

    that said, why the interest?

I agree with this somewhat. I had both models and the 7105t outperformed the 7100t in some ways.

Keyboard: Contoured keys made the 7105t better in this category. My fingers slide off non contoured keys.

Speed of Browser: 7105t won this even though it was not an EDGE device.

Screen Resolution: I was able to view the screen on the 7105t in direct sunlight better than the 7100t.

Screen Quality: I never had a scratched screen on the 7105t.

Device Quality: They both had their problems but I was able to keep the 7100t longer. The 7100t only had a problem with the power button (and it lost radio signal). The 2 7105t's I had were sent back. One USB port broke and the other's trackwheel locked up on me (after just 2 weeks). I still own a 2 yr old 7100t.

Speaker Quality: 7105t was clearer with a wired and bluetooth headset.

My personal favorite after staring at the greyish blue of the 7100t was the black of the 7105t.

never had any issues with durability with either my 7100t or my 7105t. both survived multiple drops each, from my hip to the hard concrete floor of a Wal-Mart only to bounce and slide.

no scuffs or scrapes from that action, but somehow my boss managed to scratch the 7100 screen something fierce, after having the thing for only a week. my 7105t is still in excellent condition, even having spent the last eight months of its active life carried in my back pocket, not in a holster.

one aspect of the redesign i omitted was a recessed display shield on the 7105. it works well to keep the display clean and clear and the screen won't be flush to a surface if laying on its face.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ Oh I have a scratch on my 7100t screen that's worse than the scratch on my Pearl. None of my 7100s had any damage from being dropped either but the battery cover for my Pearl slim Seidio extended battery looks like its met pavement many times and it has.
My main problem was the fact that I went thru 2 7105ts faster than 3 7100ts and 2 Pearls.
