Configuring 7100v

Hi - I just got a 7100v through my service provider (not Vodafone by the way). I know nothing about Blackberry and I want to use GPRS / MMS. All the documentation says to contact the service provider about this. I contacted them and they say that in thier systems all is ok, but that I need to provision the phone itself. They do not know how to do this with a Blackberry. (Can you believe that???)

Can someone help me - with other phones there is some type of autoconfigure to do it all - but I can't find it!

thanks in advance for the help.
Andrew

Re: Configuring 7100v

Your Blackberry's SIM news to be provisioned for Blackberry data service. If your carrier isn't Vodafone be sure they even support Blackberry service or u may need to switch.

stuart31,

You should be able to log into your BIS account and resend the service books. What is the service indication you see at the top of the screen GSM, gprs, GPRS, edge, EDGE?

Try going to Options/Advanced Options/Host Routing Table and opening the menu. Select Register Now. Another thing you may have to do is log into the O2 BIS website and create an account, entering your Pin and IMEI if asked. Then from there Look for the Send Service Books Button and click on that.

Hope this Helps
